Using a Bullard Sun ShieldThe Bullard SS4 Sun Shield, used on the Bullard models 303 and 911H helmets, and the Bullard SS5 Sun Shield, used on the Bullard 3000, 302RT, 911C, 5100, 5100MT and 4100 helmets, do not affect the performance of these helmets with regard to the requirements of the ANSI Z89.1-1997 standard for Industrial head protection. Bullard helmets with the Sun Shield mounted will meet all of the requirements of the ANSI Z89.1-1997 standard, including: 1. Flammability 2. Force transmission 3. Apex penetration 4. Electrical insulation requirements - For Class E helmets, helmets shall first pass the force transmission requirements and then shall withstand 20kV AC, 60 Hz, for 3 minutes, with leakage not to exceed 9 mA. At 30kV, the helmet shall not burn through. Bullard hard hats with sun shields can safely be used for all applications requiring the use of an ANSI Z89.1-1997 compliant helmet. |
