Bullard Offers Sterile Hoods for added Protection and Assurance
CYNTHIANA, KY - A leader in industrial health and safety products, Bullard is offering its popular CC20 and RT Series Respirator hoods and loose-fitting facepieces in sterile assemblies. Bullard is the only personal protective equipment manufacturer to offer sterile respirator headpieces for workers in sterile environments.
The CC20 and RT sterile products help users eliminate the added work of wiping down hoods and facepieces prior to use and provide a high level of assurance that environments are remaining sterile. To ensure the sterility of the CC20 and RT products, the hoods and facepieces are gamma-irradiated, pre-assembled with a breathing tube and clamp and double-bagged. Gamma-irradiation is one of the most effective sterilization processes used to eliminate microorganisms from an item.
Each CC20 and RT sterile product assembly is FDA-validated and ships with a Certificate of Sterility. The certificate verifies a Sterility Assurance Level of 10-6, which is essentially a one-in-a-million chance that a microorganism exists on the Bullard sterile product assembly.
The sterilization process does not change the design features or added protection of the traditional CC20 and RT hoods and facepieces. These products continue to feature an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 1,000 for full hoods, a patented sport neck cuff designed to help ensure positive pressure inside the hood, and Tychem® QC construction that offers superior protection. Both products can be paired with Bullard’s Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs), known for their lightweight, ergonomic design and superior protection and value. The Bullard PAPRs are not gamma-irradiated and therefore not sterile.
