The risks of working in organic vapors, acid gases, particulate hazards and other dangers make pharmaceutical manufacturing an industry that relies on robust respirator systems. Bullard offers a variety of respirators designed to meet the specific needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers.
In fact, in a 1996 study of hood-style respirators coordinated by the Organization Resources Counselors (ORC), the Bullard Model 20TIC hood was surveyed to be the number one hood used in the pharmaceutical industry. The most commonly used hoods were then used in a simulated workplace protection factor study (SWPF). The Bullard Model 20TIC hood was also the top-performing loose-fitting hood among a variety of competitors. All measurements in the SWPF study were above 150,000 resulting in a study Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 10,000. This research has resulted in OSHA recognizing a 1,000 APF for the Bullard 20TIC hood.
Bullard Powered Air-Purifying Respirators can help protect against gases, vapors and/or particulates. Available in various models, Bullard PAPRs offer decon-friendly housings, internal batteries to prevent battery cable snagging, high-performing batteries, a low voltage alarm and are ergonomically balanced for superior worker comfort.
