Bullard Awards Rock City Fire Department with Eclipse® LD Thermal Imager

APRIL 11, 2014 – CYNTHIANA, KY – Bullard awarded Rock City Fire Department in Rock City, Illinois, with an Eclipse LD Thermal Imager today at the FDIC Show in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Rock City department participated in Bullard's FDIC Eclipse LD Giveaway, which provided fire departments in the U.S. and Canada with an opportunity to submit stories that explained how a thermal imager would benefit them. Rock City is one of three fire departments Bullard selected to receive an Eclipse LD.

Rock City is a volunteer fire department that responds on a 19 Mutual Aid Box Alarm System for squads to be deployed. The department currently owns a 14 year old thermal imager and now owns a new state-of-the-art Eclipse LD imager. Assistant Chief Dan Last accepted the Eclipse LD Thermal Imager at Bullard's FDIC Booth.

Fire departments had to meet the following criteria to be considered for the giveaway: department has under 50 firefighters; department is all volunteer or combination; department currently owns one or fewer thermal imagers; and the department has not purchased or received a thermal imager in the last five years.

“We are committed to providing firefighters with the safety tools they need to protect themselves and the citizens of their communities,” said Eric Pasch, President and CEO of Bullard. “Often, volunteer fire departments go without safety equipment or are using very old equipment because of budget constraints. Our goal with this giveaway was to reach out to volunteer fire departments and get thermal imagers in their hands.”
